why would I have nausea after eating?
I eat 3 meals in a day (of course). In the past couple of months, maybe once a week, I get nauseous after eating meals, most of the time dinner. I never actually throw up because I tell myself that I’m not nauseous and will not throw up. There have been no changes in my diet, yet recently I have been feeling nauseous after almost every year. Pregnancy is most definitely NOT a possible cause since I am abstinent and actually haven’t ever had a boyfriend. Anyone have any ideas? (besides telling me to go to the doctor.)

It isn’t just one specific type of food, and I don’t really eat greasy food often. I’m a vegetarian and I stay away from dairy products as much as I can so I don’t think it can be lactose intolerance. My diet varies a lot, from pasta to salads to tofu and many other things. No food allergies either, I’m pretty sure.
Oh. I copied that stuff because I didn’t know it would remain… just ignore the first paragraph of that edit.

maybe you have a stomach virus or someother type of stomach bug.
it could even be from just eating the same thing too much!

i have had this problem since i was 10. it used to scare me actually. but it turned out i was lactose intolerant. run to walmart, and invest in a package of “lactaids” or the off brand. give them a try and see if it goes away! I also have an aversion to greasy foods, which also may be your problem. Lactose intolerance can develop and fade with age, and its not really as aweful as it sounds. Limited, milkshakes is a great diet! ( or so i learned.

food allergies can do that to you. You can develope allergies pretty much at any time. is there any common factor in what you ate before you felt ill?

Try starting a food diary. See if you notice any patterns. It could be a simple food allergy or intolerance. If you track what you eat you may realize that there is a certain type of food that is regularly connected the after-meal sick feeling. I know you said you don’t have food allergies but it is possible to develop one later in life.

You can also pay attention to your emotions and stress level. When you feel nauseous is it ever after a stressful day? If you go into a meal with a bundle of nerves any food can end up not sitting well. If you know you are stressed stick to light and bland foods to prevent an unsettling feeling.

Lastly, I’m sorry I know you said not to say this, but GO TO THE DOCTOR! A doc can at least eliminate any serious problems through a simple test.
