sore throat, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite?
I went to my doctor today, and he gave me a shot of antibiotics as well as a pregnancy test. I started getting a sore throat a few days ago, accompanied with nausea, headache, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue, dizziness and light headedness. I haven’t been running a fever. The doctor said it wasn’t the flu, but I’ve never had just a common cold with all of these other symptoms. Headache and sore throat yes, but not the rest.

I’m supposed to go back in a week, but I have to drive to work and school, and I don’t feel safe driving with me getting so dizzy ,disoriented and lighthead. Has anyone else ever had these symptoms before? What did your illness turn out to be?
I have taken off for the next week actually, because I noticed that I was not driving safely… I just don’t know what it is. Mono maybe? Hopefully I should have the test results back within the next day or so.

These symptoms could be any of a dozen things (or combination of things) so I doubt anyone on this website is going to be able to give you a definitive answer that’s correct. If you’re too dizzy to drive, you’re probably too dizzy to perform your job or school work effectively, so going to work and school is a bad idea. You may end up just making your life difficult by messing something up at work and then prolonging your illness due to stress.

I would recommend taking time off work and school and resting constantly for at least one full day (probably two). I know it sucks to have to do that, but you’ll be better off if you just nip this problem in the bud now, rather than lose 2 days of your life trying to live like a zombie.

If your symptoms worsen to the point where you can’t get around your house, go back to the doctor.
